Double Honors/Advanced Placement Program (HH/AP)
Double Honors/Advanced Placement Program (HH/AP)
Students who qualify for this program take classes beyond the honors level in preparation for
Advanced Placement college level classes in Junior and Senior Year. Students are able to select 4 years
of English, History, Science, Math and French, Spanish, German or Arabic. Students do not have to be
in all double honors classes; schedules are developed with consideration for a student’s total academic
load. Qualified students from the attendance area and the Performing Arts Program are also scheduled
into HH/AP classes. At least four Advanced Placement courses are required before graduation. LPHS offers
over 15 Advanced Placement classes and has one of the largest Advanced Placement programs in Chicago.
Admission:
Selective on the basis of scores, academic record and attendance. Students must be at the Exceeds Standards Performance Level in Reading and/or Math on 7th grade ISAT or the 85th percentile on other standardized tests.
