Classes of 1957--50th Reunion

The 50th reunion banquet was Sept. 29 at the Wellington of Arlington Banquet Hall in Arlington Heights, with cocktails at 6:00pm, dinner at 7:00pm and dancing after dinner. A tour of Waller High School/Lincoln was offered on Friday afternoon (Sept. 28), with a pizza meal after the tour in a nearby restaurant. Also offered: an architectural tour by boat on the Chicago River, sponsored by the Chicago Architectural Foundation.

Date was Saturday August 25, at Chicago’s famous Cubby Bear Wrigleyville, 1059 W Addison, Chicago. An informal setting that included variety of hors d’oeuvres, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages a private room, from 7 pm to 10 pm. 1950-1952 (55th): Sunday, Sept 24, 2006

Place was Sheraton 4 Points Hotel, Irving Park Road & Mannheim in Schiller Park. Cost was $39.00 per person and included hors d'oeuvres at 11:30 am plus a hot, family style meal at 12:30 pm. There was an open bar. A block of rooms were reserved at the special price of $89.00 per night. 1956 classes (50th): September 8-9, 2006

On Friday, a casual gathering happened at Lincoln Park Zoo in the afternoon, followed by a pizza party. On Saturday afternoon, a tour of the school was led by Phyllis Wright, retired assistant principal. In the evening, a banquet/party was held at Manzo’s Banquets, 1571 S. 1996 (10th): August 12-13, 2006

1959-1960-1961 classes (45th): September 16-18, 2005.
A dinner was on Saturday, September 17 at the Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O’Hare at 6501 N. Mannheim Road in Rosemont, Illinois (reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m). Other reunion events included: a bus trip to the Elgin Casino on Friday evening, a Saturday bus tour of the neighborhood near the school and downtown Chicago (including a stop at the high school) and a brunch on Sunday morning at the Sheraton Gateway Suites hotel.
A block of rooms at the Sheraton Gateway Suites was reserved at $99 per night.
Locating classmates was started by using the mailing list provided by the Waller/Lincoln Park High School Alumni Association. A website (uph.com/waller) was set up to supply information about the reunion, indicating names of persons who had been located and those who would be attending. It also helped find “lost” classmates, allowed sign up for attending the dinner and/or other events, and collected memory book information.

1955 classes (January & June) 50th reunion: Sept. 9-10, 2005.

A dinner was on Saturday, September 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Monastero's Restaurant (Pulaski & Devon) in Chicago. 1995 Class (10-Year): July 22-23, 2005

1938-1941 (65th): Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004
Edward Schies (1939) organized a wonderful 65th Year Reunion luncheon, with the volunteer help of Yvonne (Willis) Washington (class of 1971). Choral students from LPHS performed several songs (during their lunch period!). The place was Marcello’s Father and Sons Pizza, 645 W. North Avenue. 1994 (10 Year): September 4 and 5, 2004

Classes of 1971-1976 (30th): July 9-11, 2004.
The place was the Hyatt Regency Oak Brook, 1909 Spring Road in Oak Brook. There was a Friday night reception, Saturday morning breakfast brunch buffet, Saturday evening banquet/dance and Sunday morning brunch buffet. An afternoon visit to Waller High/LPHS was organized; plus, the Oak Brook Mall was just steps away from the hotel. Overnight accommodations at the Hyatt were available at a reduced rate. 1953 classes (50th): October 11, 2003
Place: Manzo's Restaurant, 1571 Elmhurst Road (Des Plaines). Members of classes of 1951-1955 were also invited. They arranged for a tour of the school on Saturday morning. Click HERE for a class photo taken at the dinner. See the Alumni News published in Dec. 2003 for more details.

1993 class (10th): June 20 and 21, 2003
The celebration was kicked off at Lincoln Park High School on Friday evening with a dinner dance party. On Saturday, a barbeque began at 11:00 a.m. Children could come only on Saturday for a small fee. 1962 (40th): August 9 and 11, 2002
On Friday evening, they met from 7-11 p.m. for drinks and pizza at Dino's Restaurant at 7004 W. Higgins Road in Chicago.
