State Sectionals
Boys Varsity Track & Field ended it's season on a High Note Thursday 5/19 at Niles West High School.
Our 4 x800 team of Eric Herrera, William Kildow, Robert Rose and Elad Deiss-Yeleiy just missed our school record by less than 1 second. This was the schools fastest time in 5 years for that event.
Senior Rashad Wahab sets the school record in the 200 meters (23.55) that has stood since 2002.
Freshman Christian Glasenhardt runs a freshman record in the 400 with a very fast 54.67.
Alex Zitoli and Tarick Abushfam both set season bests in the discus and Shot put.
2011 was a very exciting and successful season for Lions Track and Field. City Championship Meet Our team finished second in this race with a season best time..only to be disqualified later for inadvertenlty bumping the runner from Mather.
Robert Rose scored points for us in the 800 with a strong 7th place finish.

Boys Varsity City Qualifier meet at Hanson Stadium on Wed 5/4/11
The 4 x 800 team of : Robert Rose, Eric Herrera, Willam Kildow, Elad Dyess-Yeyilly. Not only qualified for city but had the fastest time of the meet beating rivals Lane Tech and Kenwood Academy.
Robert Rose came back one hour later and qualifies in the 800. Tarik Abufasham aslo qualified in the Shot Put.
City Championships are on Saturday May 6 at Hanson Stadium. Please come and cheer the Lions on.

Boys Sophomore/Freshman team competed in the City Championship Qualifer on Saturday 4/30 at Hanson stadium.
Michael Stubna and Michale Lally Freshman) qualified in the 1,600 and our 4x800 team of Michael Lally, Arseney Millanov, Tangy August and Christian Glasenhardt also qualifed with a very impressive close 4th place finish.
City Championships will be held Friday 5/6 at hanson stadium ( Fullerton and Central) at 4pm.
Come out and cheer us on! Just some stats from the Mather Invite last Saturday the 2nd.
Boys finished 8th out of 22 teams- and were led by our 4x800 Relay team of Captain:. Eric Herreara ( who also placed in the 400) Robert Rose, Willam Kildow and Elasd Dyes-Yeihly. With a fine 3rd place in the event.
Tarick Abushfam Placed a strong 4th in the shot Put with his best throw to date.
Our Fro/Soph athletes also are showing some excellent promise as the season progresses.
Next meet is Sat. 4/9 at Eckersall Stadium for the Perspective Relays.
