There is nothing for this month.

2011 Football Season

Game 1 vs. Austin  L (0-14)
The Lions opened the season at Hanson Field against Austin.  The first half remained stalemated at 0-0 until Austin completed a long pass with 11 seconds remaining in the half for a touchdown to go up 8-0.  LP was led by quarterback Darrious Cockrell who threw for 55 yards and ran for 80.  The Lions defense performed well, forcing 4 fumbles; however, it was not enough as Lincoln Park fell to Austin, 0-14.

Game 2 vs. Chicago Bulls College Prep  W (30-14)
The Lions played a physical game on Saturday jumping out to a 18-6 lead at the half when severe storms forced a postponement of their first victory until Tuesday.  The Lions continued their tough play with Bobby Gordon leading the way rushing for 91 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Malcolm Louis lead the defense with 5 tackles and 1 interception.  Lincoln Park continued on to win 30-14.

Game 3 vs.  Mather High School L (0-2)

Game 4 vs. Schurz W (36-28)
The Lions rebounded with an impressive and thrilling performance.  Trailing 14-25 in the 3rd quarter, the Lions scored two touchdowns to pull ahead 28-25 in the fourth.  Bobby Gordon of the Lion defense contributed with a 60 yard fumble return for a touchdown.  An offensive fumble deep in their own territory put the win in jeopardy but the Lion defense held Schurz to a field goal.  The Lincoln Park offense moved down the field with less than a minute to go with the help of a 65 yard completion to Jailan Taylor.  Darrious Cockrell completed a fourth and goal pass to Malcom Louis to score the winning touchdown.

Game 5 vs Clemente W (26-16)
With several key players out due to injury, the team stepped up against conference foe, Clemente.  The Lions clawed back once again from a 3rd quarter deficit.  Darrious Cockrell threw for two touchdowns and Andres Vargas ran for another in an impressive win.  The LP defense remained stout, forcing four turnovers.

Game 6 vs Steinmetz L (33-8)
The once dominant Lion defense struggled against the midline option of Steinmetz, allowing 33 points.  Several crucial turnovers assisted Steinmetz in the victory.  Mahir Krijestorac played well for the defense with several tackles for losses while Andres Vargas ran the ball physically for the Lion offense.

Game 7 vs Taft L (20-6)
The Lions fell this week in a pivotal conference game against Taft.  Ashante Morgan led the team with 60 yards in receptions and a touchdown while Daimhin McGrath contributed with several tough catches over the middle.  Nonetheless, key interceptions by Taft and poor tackling by the LP defense proved to be the deciding factor in this hard fought game.

Game 8 vs Prosser W (30-2)
The Lions put on a dominant performance in all stages of the game in their homecoming victory against Prosser.  Alex Berbakov led the offense throwing for 2 touchdowns.  Additionally, the LP defense was dominant; not giving up any points on their side of the ball.  Malcolm Louis contributed with an interception return for a touchdown.   The Lion special teams contributed as well when Darrious Cockrell returned a kick 75 yards for a touchdown.

Game 9 vs Foreman L (23-18)
The seniors put forth an inspiring performance in their last game for the Lions.  Darrious Cockrell led the way throwing for 82 yards, rushing for 126 yards, and returning a fumble on defense 60 yards for a touchdown.  Malcolm Louis contributed on defense with 6 tackles and an interception.  Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Lions fell to the conference champions in their final game of the season.  .
