LPHS XC Notes 10/29/2011
The Boys and Girls finished out their very successful 2011 season Saturday at the State Sectional meet.

The girl’s team took advantage of the weather an ran their best meet of the year. Their 22:06 average is the Best average ever by an LP girl’s team. Seniors Sarah Lee nearly missed the school record with a fast 21:00 for the 3 mile course and “the Future” Jackie Hui broke her own freshman record by 4 seconds with a 22:13. Sophomore Sarah Mythen runs a great 21:50 and Captain Chloe Daniel ran her season best as did Dena Arizanovska.

Both teams are still loaded for next season! Look out 2012!

LPHS Cross Country Comes up Big at City Championships.
Over the last 5 years the City XC scene has started getting better and bigger. Today at Washington Park it was no different. The fields were the biggest to date and the competition was faster than ever.

Girls Varsity Places 10th!
This is the first time the girls have fielded a full team in 3 years for City. This is also the first time since 2005 that the Varsity girls have cracked into the top ten. SR Sarah Lee led the charge followed by SO Dena Arizonovska, SR Captain Chloe Daniel, SR Marie Mangenast and SO Letti Garcia.
Girls Fro/Soph pretty much showcased LP girl’s future with 2 sophomores and one Fr. Sarah Mythen, Jackie Hui and Alejandra Reyes all ran gutsy races today and have a very bright future with LPHS XC!

Cross Country team comes up big at the “ Latin Prep Classic”.
The race was held Oct. 6 at our home course in the park by the zoo.

from SO Sarah Mythen as she runs a personal best of 14:06!

Congrats to all LP runners!

Sarah ran a quick 21:50 to put her as only the 5th LP female runner to break 22 minutes for 3 miles.
IHSA went to 3 miles for girls in 2002.
Congratulations to all Lion runners! Next meet is October 1, at Montrose Harbor.
