Athletic Policies / Eligibility

Physicals
NO STUDENT ATHLETE IS ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE in tryouts, practice, or a game without a current / valid physical. Physicals are valid for 13 months (395 days).  See Athletic Registration to get signed up.

Player Record Packet
CPS requires students to complete a player records packet.  Students will not be allowed to participate until this is completed and turned in.

Academic Eligibility
To be academically eligible for sports, student athletes must have maintained a 2.3 GPA and earned 3.0 credits during the previous semester. In addition, grade reports will be generated on the first school day of each week. If a student is failing 2 or more classes, they have until the next report to bring their grade up or they will be ineligible for competitions until they do.

Attendance
Students are expected to attend all team functions. Playing time is 100% at the discretion of the coaching staff. Playing time is not an expectation. Student athletes are expected to be at practice, film sessions, meetings, service projects, etc. But this does not guarantee playing time. Missed practice time for any reason can and will result in a loss of playing time.

Communication
Reach out to your athletes' coaches and register on Snap! Manage to be included on mailing list or other forms of communication.  They will be your first resource.  Use the designated form of communication to obtain more information about the sport your are interested in.  Please email the head coach for the designated sport.

Other Documents
CPS and IHSA requires all transfer students to have a transfer submission with the school/state in order to rule on the students eligibility.  This form needs to be fill out well in advance of the season that the student plans to participate in.  Please reach out to your coach and school athletic director with questions or concerns.

Level 1 Volunteer - Lincoln Park Athletics is looking for as many parents as possible to become Level 1 volunteers.  This allows flexibility for our coaches and aides Lincoln Park in meeting certain CPS requirements.  Among other things, Level 1 Volunteer Status allows parents to act as chaperones and drive athletes to / from athletic events.  To become a Level 1 volunteer please use the provided link.  Please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Ms. Denise Morris ([email protected]), with any questions.
