Lincoln Park High School offers many after school clubs. The clubs span a wide variety of interests and activities.
These clubs normally meet once/week and are led by dedicated student leaders and committed adult sponsors.

Club Name Description
ACT Science Review Targeted for juniors to prep for the ACT
Amnesty International To educate people on abuses of human rights occurring throughout the world. We hope to stand up for human rights through student action.
Anime Club A celebration of the medium of anime and manga, in all its forms, as well as an exploration of Japanese culture and cuisine.
Art Club To give students a relaxed, creative space to explore art beyond the classroom. We'll experiment with different materials, work on personal and group projects, and find ways to share student art throughout the school. It's open to all skill levels and will help build community, encourage self-expression, and bring more creativity to LPHS. A welcoming, low-pressure environment where students feel safe to express themselves. Highlights student voice and choice in projects to keep it relevant and engaging. Please note: the Pottery Club is being combined with this club. Pottery will be part of the activities.
Art Empowerment The goal of the club is to use art as a way to support different causes and raise awareness around important issues. Creating art that celebrates different cultures during heritage months and spreading awareness about social issues. We also want to create cards as an act of kindness for people such as hospital patients, seniors in care homes, teachers, veterans. Please note that the previous Create for Kids Club will be combined with this new Club)
Asian American Club Asian American Club: The club is aimed at creating a space to all students (not only Asian) to learn about and celebrate various Asian cultures through general meetings and special events. The club also participates in APITAC's (Asian Pacific Islanders Teen Association of Chicago) annual showcase to unite and collaborate with other area schools.

Asian American Club includes groups for Bollywood, Kpop, and Chinese Umbrella dance as well!
ASL Club (American Sign Language) Helping other students learn ASL, as a new or different way to communicate
Badminton Learn, practice and play the game of badminton
Best Buddies Best Buddies Club is a student organization that fosters friendship, inclusion, and leadership opportunities by pairing students with and without intellectual or developmental disabilities to build meaningful connections and create a more inclusive school community.
Black Student Union  
Boxing Club Learn how to box and train properly. The club is a good physical but also a mental and emotion workout for students. The club is meant to teach, train, and mentor the student.
   
Chalk and Talk Club Provide inspirational and positive messages in chalk on approved outside school property + manage internal school boards for themes and communications
Chess Team The Chess Team competes in local, state, and national tournaments. If you are willing to learn and compete in tournaments, you are welcome at any skill level. Our practices involve lessons on tactics and strategies and time for friendly chess games.
Chicago Solutions Researching and gathering volunteer, community and possibly scholarship opportunities for LP students
Chinese Go Club A valuable platform for exploring Chinese strategy games such as Go, Mahjong, Chinese Chess, and other traditional board games. These activities not only enriched students’ cultural knowledge but also enhanced strategic thinking and social interaction. The club is open to all students, including those in Mandarin classes and others interested in these games.
CIEE Club (Study Abroad) Do you want to study abroad in your dream country this summer? Our alumni will help you decide, plan and apply. Take advantage of the scholarship opportunities and participate in this life-changing experience!
Civic Leaders of America (CLA) The primary purpose of "Civic Leaders of America" is to foster civic engagement and cultivate leadership skills among high school students through debates, conventions, volunteering, and activism, empowering them to create positive change in their communities and develop informed worldviews. The organization provides a platform for passionate students to discuss important issues, build skills, and take a larger, more active role in their democracy by connecting with other young people and working to address community needs.
Creative Writing Creative writing magazine
Debate Policy Debate is a specific type of debate that involves learning the elements of effective argumentation and developing a deep understanding of a current relevant political issue. A person can only really claim to hold an informed political position if they understand all sides, and in debate students must be prepared to argue either side of the resolution. Students also develop research skills as they continuously revise and develop their case.
Dungeons and Dragons Students will meet to create characters and organize original Dungeons and Dragons campaigns
English Tutoring A work space to receive supplemental support in the area of English
Environmental Club The LP Environmental Club aims to provide the school with clean sources of energy like wind and solar, reduce waste in the lunch rooms through composting and recycling, and raise awareness about climate change and natural resource conservation in the school community.
Fashion club Fashion Club is a place for students to explore personal style, fashion design, and creative expression. Members will learn about different aspects of fashion, from styling and sewing basics to sustainability and trend inspiration. We’ll work on projects like mood boards, upcycling clothes, and possibly even hosting a fashion show or photo exhibit. This club is about building community, confidence, and creativity through fashion.
Forever Found Bringing students closer to God. Activities of the club would include me music, small Bible study and time for fellowship.
Fusion Lions Hop Hop Club A vibrant space for students to learn and/or teach exciting dance styles, connect with fellow dancers, and explore their creativity through choreography. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, there’s a place for you here.
Gaming An organized online and in-person setting to discuss and play games. Our esports teams compete online and in-person in events hosted by the IHSEA, SPIN, and IHSA to develop sportsmanship, competitive rigor, and obtain competitive/college opportunities.
Gardening Club Gardening Club aims to beautify LPHS by maintaining plants and flowers in gardens throughout our campus
Hellenic Club The Hellenic Club celebrates Greek culture and heritage through student-led discussions, cultural activities, and events open to the school community. The goal is to promote diversity, cultural awareness, and inclusivity while providing students with opportunities to connect, share traditions, and build leadership skills.
Homework Cafe A space where students come together to complete their homework, study for tests, and ask for help if they are in certain subjects with all of their peers.
Jewelry Come together to make various types of jewelry (either for donation or gifting), learn jewwlry-making skills and bond
Jewish Student Connection (JSC) The Jewish Student Connection Club is a fun, welcoming space for students to celebrate Jewish heritage through activities and lively discussions. With great snacks, it’s a place to make friends, learn about traditions, and enjoy a strong sense of community!
Knowledge Sprouts Students collaboratively create (write, illustrate and publish) inclusive books for children.
Latine Student Union Building solidarity and strengthening cultural pride in the Latin LP community

LP Democrats High School Democrats of America (HSDA) is a national political organization that serves as an entry point to Democratic politics for youth activists from across the country. With two seats on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and a membership of 10,000+, HSDA works at local, state, and national levels to advance the ideals of the Democratic Party.
Through the LP local chapter, we aim to provide a powerful and collective voice for politically active high school students. HSDA is entirely student-run, and dedicated members from all walks of life have the chance to open new doors through their involvement in projects and events.
Our club is a space for students to learn, speak up, and take action on the issues we care about. We work together to build leadership skills, make our voices heard in politics, and create a significant impact in our community.
Made For More Christian Club A Christian Club where students come together to talk about scripture in the bible.
Majorettes The majorette team is a unique program that was started by young African American women here at Lincoln Park. Majorette is about giving minority-race women the chance to express themselves through dance, but meanwhile gaining a sense of sisterhood and displaying black excellence.
Market Masters Members participate in activities in order to gain essential knowledge in personal finance and investing. Members will learn how to manage money, budget effectively, understand credit, and explore various investment strategies. Through interactive workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on activities, students will gain the skills needed to make informed financial decisions and build wealth for their future.
Math Team Mathletes study and compete together in math competitions. All students who are interested in math are encouraged to join, regardless of their math background!
Medical Club Students gather to participate in activities, games and lectures intended to inform them of various medical fields and career opportunities.
Model UN Students role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees and other organizations. This involves researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
Music Production & Guitar Making beats, mixing, DJ'ing. Loving and exploring music and how it relates to technology. Rehearsing and recording music, guitar playing.
Needlework And Craft Circle Bring a craft you are working on: crochet, knitting, embroidery, or come just to sketch or write and chat. No experience necessary. Students learn from each other.
Paw Print Newspaper The Paw Print Newspaper club produces a newspaper on a regular basis throughout the year. Learn to plan, write for, edit and run a student newspaper. We publish articles about life in our school and community, and provide a way for students to showcase and practice literary skills and abilities. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Philosophy Club A forum to discuss worldly topics and moral issues in a socratic type setting. Meeting of the minds.
Red Cross Chapter Club Practice and exemplify humanitarian values through mission-related service projects
Robotics "LP Roarbotics" LP Roarbotics is a competitive robotics team that empowers high school students to develop their engineering, programming, business, and leadership skills. Through our participation in the FIRST Tech Challenge, we provide a dynamic environment for students to collaborate with like-minded peers and mentors. Founded in 2019, our team has consistently excelled, qualifying for the Illinois FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship numerous times and being consisently one of the top ranked teams in Chicago. Rock Climbing The sport of climbing
SAGA Sexuality and Gender Alliance - Provides a safe space for students to learn about, discuss, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community at LPHS and beyond
Sailing Learn how to Sail c420 boats at Columbia Yacht Club -- fee associated with joining; Fall Registration is Closed; We will be doing some video reviews during the winter Months; Spring Sailing Dates: March 17th - May 17th 2025
Shine a Light The purpose is to promote awareness, provide education on where and how to access resources, and create activities that support well-being. In this way, we aim to encourage kindness, empathy, and healthier ways of coping with stress. (For those inside of the club and out)
Slam Poetry Space for students to write and engage with poetry
Social Connections The focus is on student-lead activities like making friendship bracelets, fun games, and collaborative team building workshops. Our purpose is to build connections, form friendships, and create a safe environment for those new to the school community or those who are looking for support fostering social relationships or connections
Spanish Tutoring A work space to receive supplemental support in the area of World Language (Spanish)
Sports Debate A forum to debate current professional/collegiate sports topics
Start from Scratch Open to all students who are interested in coding or already enjoy coding and want to create games, animations, etc. using the CodeHS platform's extension of Scratch (MIT.edu).
STEM and Stories
STEM & Stories combines different STEM concepts with creativity and storytelling. Members work together to design fun STEM activities for younger students, explore ways to make STEM more engaging, and volunteer in the community. The club would meet every Thursday after school to plan projects, run experiments, and share ideas- all while earning volunteer hours and building leadership skills.
Student Voice Committee(SVC) SVC/ School-based student leadership teams designed to forge student-adult partnerships in school improvement. SVCs work with administration on persistent problems the school is trying to address and strive to make sure student input and perspective are increased at every level. SVC works to raise youth perspective and expertise in understanding problems schools face and to strengthen the decisions schools and teachers make.
Students For Change Club Students for Change Club participate in a variety of projects that improve the school community and make a positive impact on student life. Past projects include Blood Drives and Oz Park Clean ups
Theater Club Theater Club puts on a play every spring. We typically hold auditions in March, and rehearse through early May
Trans Advocacy Club
Trans Advocacy club aims to spread awareness of trans-specific issues, as well as advocating for social and educational rights. We place an emphasis on mental health and strive to create a healthy and strong community for the entire LGBTQ community of LPHS.
True Crime Club To explore criminology, forensic, and true crime stories through a fellowship of students with mutual interest. Students will be able to improve observational and deductive reasoning skills with games like "Spot It" and "Clue". It's really up to the kids but I foresee the opportunity to research and investigate (virtually) local and current event unsolved criminal cases. We will utilize the forensic science lab so the students will have access to equipment for fingerprinting and blood stain analysis. Perhaps they will even be able to set up mock crime scenes for the Forensic Science classes.
West African Assn West African association, or WAA is a club that will highlight and teach fellow west africans at our school about their culture and the importance of it that the media doesn't tell you. We will meet every other Tuesday (subject to change) and if we are able to collaborate with Lincoln Park´s West African club, the idea is that we meet once a month to discuss plans for both of the clubs.
Women Empowerment The Women Empowerment Club is a space dedicated to fostering strength, confidence, and support among young women at LP. This club offers a welcoming environment where students can openly discuss topics related to gender equality, leadership, and self-confidence. Through group discussions, activities, and guest speakers, members will have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills, build a supportive community, and explore ways to impact their school and community positively. Joining the Women Empowerment Club encourages students to grow, find their voices, and learn the power of uplifting one another.
Writer's Workshop Writer's Workshop Club (Formerly Storybook Club) is a creative writing club that meets weekly to discuss new ideas and writing prompts that we compile into a literary magazine at the end of the year.
