Merit School of Music is one of the most reputable extracurricular music programs in Chicago. Because of their reputation, tuition is free (sponsored by donors) except for a materials fee. Many Lincoln Park HS music students have been or are in this program, which is a 4-8 hour recurring Saturday program throughout the school year in the West Loop. For percussionists, consider exploring their Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony opportunities. These also include dedicated percussion instruction.
