The Girls practices will begin April 5, 2021 and with games beginning April 12th. There are many details to iron out and we will keep you posted as more information becomes available. That said YOU MUST REGISTER NOW! See the link below.
* Attendance is expected at all tryout sessions. For conflicts, see below.
ALL PLAYERS PLANNING TO ATTEND TRYOUTS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE at lphs-soccer.com AND COMPLETING ALL OF THE REQUIRED FORMS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
For LPHS Girls Soccer, a critical part of LION PRIDE is COMMITMENT. We want players who are COMMITTED to making the most of their training time. LPHS Boys Soccer players are dressed out and ready to train at the appointed time.
With our emphasis on COMMITMENT, we have a NO CUT policy for players who consistently show up to training and games on time and ready to play. There is a spot in the Lincoln Park High School Soccer Program for EVERY COMMITTED PLAYER.
In that spirit of LION PRIDE: PLAYERS TRYING OUT ARE EXPECTED TO BE DRESSED PROPERLY AND READY TO TRY OUT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES IN ADVANCE OF THE START TIME. INCIDENTS OF UNEXCUSED LATENESS WILL FACTOR INTO PLAYER EVALUATIONS AT TRYOUTS.
EACH PLAYER TRYING OUT IS EXPECTED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING TO TRYOUTS:
soccer ball (size 5), Proper hydration & nutrition
soccer-appropriate footwear
shinguards (MUST be worn during tryouts; no guards, no tryout, no exceptions)
water
CONFLICTS: If due to an unavoidable conflict any player seeking to try out cannot attend all or part of tryouts, that player MUST notify Coach Ruttenberg well in advance. Coach Ruttenberg can be reached via email at [email protected]. Previously scheduled family vacations are considered excused absences, but you must notify Coach Ruttenberg in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: LPHS soccer coaches will not discuss why a player did or did not make Varsity. LPHS soccer coaches will, in an appropriate time and setting, discuss with a player and/or his parents what the coaches see as that players strengths, limitations and areas for improvement as a player. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact Coach Thurmond.
We look forward to seeing you at tryouts. LION PRIDE!
